Chemical Peel
WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL?
In a chemical peel treatment, an acidic solution is applied to the skin to remove damaged top layers, accelerate cell turnover, and stimulate collagen production for a brighter, more smooth complexion. By allowing a controlled injury at a predetermined depth, chemical peels promote new skin growth and improve skin texture to achieve a more radiant look. It is primarily for the face, however they can be safely applied to the neck, chest, and the backs of the hands as well.

At Ageless Grace, we offer a variety of effective peels, including ZO 3 Step Peel, and the Perfect Derma Peel, which are made of a unique blend of acids and retinoids designed to stimulate cellular renewal.
BENEFITS OF A CHEMICAL PEEL
The right peel can be very helpful in addressing common skin concerns like acne, acne scars, age spots, melasma, hyperpigmentation, rough skin, sun damage, and fine lines. These effective peels target skin laxity, sun damage, wrinkles and uneven skin tone.
AM I A CANDIDATE FOR A HYDRAFACIAL?
Chemical peels are generally considered to be very safe. A 2018 study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology examined the safety of superficial chemical peels for Fitzpatrick skin types III–IV and found that less than 4% of treatments resulted in any complications.

Because there are many different types of chemical peels, most people are able to benefit from some kind of peel. However, peel selection can be more limited for certain skin types. People with sensitive skin or darker complexions are advised to avoid deeper peels to minimize complications. burns, scars, or hyperpigmentation.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A CHEMICAL PEEL?
Your experience will depend on the strength of your peel.

At Ageless Grace, we offer mild to medium peels, and anesthesia isn’t usually necessary. You may feel some stinging or burning until the peel is neutralized. Discomfort is minimized by chilling the skin during treatment with either a small fan or the Zimmer skin cooling system, depending on the strength of the peel.

After your face has been cleansed, the solution is applied and left on for a few minutes to an hour, depending on the type of the peel and sensitivity of your skin. You may feel itching, stinging, and burning while the solution is on your skin. Once the acid application is complete, a cold gauze compress is applied to the skin to neutralize the acid. Your face is then cleansed with cold water compresses, and a moisturizer and sunscreen are applied to protect your skin.
